The degu is a small caviomorph rodent that is endemic to the Chilean matorral ecoregion of central Chile. They need plenty of space so a large cage or aviary should be provided with lots of hay. They are very active and need lots of things to chew. Lifespan: 5 – 10 years. Diet: Degu Nugget’s, Hay and Small amounts of fresh Veg. *They can be diabetic so do not feed them surgary treats.
