Chinchillas are crepuscular rodents, slightly larger and more robust than ground squirrels. They are native to the Andes mountains in South America and live in colonies called “herds” at high altitudes up to 4,270 metres. They should be kept in large cages, like things to chew on and come in a variety of colours.
Lifespan: 10 – 20 years.
Diet: Chinchilla Pellets, Hay, Fruit and Veg infrequently and always fresh drinking Water.
Specialties: Need wood to grind their teeth, also like sand baths.
