The cockatiel, also known as the Quarrion and the Weiro, is a member of the cockatoo family endemic to Australia. They are ideal as a household pet and companion parrot throughout the world and are relatively easy to breed in an aviary. They are relatively easy to tame and will interact. If they are kept in a spacious aviary, they should mix well with Budgies, Parakeets and Quail. Cockatiels are second in popularity to the budgie.
